The Acker Jazztet - from a duo to a full eight piece band

    If you are looking for live music, the Acker Jazztet will make your occasion special with upbeat, swinging jazz!  From traditional early jazz, Mardi Gras, dixieland, New Orleans, swing, jazz standards or a mix of these styles; this jazz ensemble (whether a duo or a full seven or eight piece band) will be hand picked to provide the finest professional musicians for the jazz genre you require.  Concert performances, grand openings, festivals, church functions, school assemblies, weddings, life celebrations, dinner parties, or your backyard picnics -  let the Acker Jazztet provide the perfect music!

   

    These Denver jazz veterans will bring to your event an exciting musical experience sure to please the dancer and the listener.  Tune lists might include:  Sweet Georgia Brown, Basin Street Blues, Saints Go Marching In, Tuxedo Junction, In the Mood, My Funny Valentine, Stardust, Take the “A” Train, or Stompin' at the Savoy.  As well as selections made famous by jazz musicians such as Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, or Duke Ellington.  Every effort will be made to include tune requests from your guests.

    Leading the ensemble, Lance B. Acker has been part of the Denver jazz scene for over 30 years (21 of those years with the well known “Queen City Jazz Band”).  His instruments include clarinet, flute and all saxophones (soprano, saxello, alto, tenor, bari, bass sax and contrabass sarrusophone).  Lance's experience is derived from many years on stage regionally, nationally, and internationally.  Musicians rounding out the ensemble will vary depending on the jazz genre; all members of this jazz ensemble are professional musicians who enjoy working together to entertain you!
