Although Denver musician Eric Roberts is primarily known as a bass player, guitar is his first love, and his debut CD entitled "In a Silent Place" showcases his beautiful classical guitar in a relaxed yet uplifting setting featuring cellist David Darling (formerly of the Paul Winter Consort and recording artist on the ECM, Hearts of Space and Relaxation labels), guitarist Robert Weinstein and percussionist Ed Contreras. "The River Runs" and "Snow" from In A Silent Place were among the top five finalists in the New Age category in the Independent Music Awards, sponsored by The Musician's Atlas and Borders Books & Music.

"Snow" from In A Silent Place won first prize in the "Open/AOG" or open acoustic genre of the 2007 International Acoustic Music Awards, (IAMA).

"Cella's Song" from In A Silent Place won first prize in the Instrumental category of the 2007 USA Songwriting Competition.

Words can't begin to describe how your music has touched so many people. After Bud passed, you know I gave his massage therapist one and Bud had his last massage to your beautiful music. Then, last night, I went to visit a dear family friend (only 50 years old) and brought a portable CD player with headphones and put in your CD. She had been thrashing in pain and was so agitated and the minute the music began, she calmed and rested. I just kept starting it over again and again.
