Owen Johnston's Memorial Service

Dear FCS MW#3 musicians and all regular members,

As most of you now know, Jason Johnston’s baby son, Owen, passed away on Monday, February 1st. A memorial service is being held this Friday. Here are the details from Michelle Shah:

We want to thank everyone for their love and support over the past 8 months. We feel truly blessed to have so many wonderful friends and family. We would like everyone to come join us to celebrate Owen’s life! We would love for anyone who knew Owen or just heard his story and was touched to come to his memorial. We would love to fill the church!!! There will be a reception following the memorial service for everyone.

What to wear: Please wear BRIGHT colors (no black)

How you can help:

1. Instead of giving flowers Jason and Amy would like you to donate to Owen’s Memorial Fund. Redeemer Lutheran Church has set up a memorial fund in honor of Owen Cassius Johnston to help take care of the costs related to Owen’s medical care and to support research of Biliary Atresia, the disease from which he suffered. Memorials may be made to The Owen Johnston Memorial @ Redeemer Lutheran Church, 7755 Greenstone Trail, Fort Collins, CO 80525. All donations are tax deductable.

2. Memorial bracelets in honor of Owen (similar to the “LIVESTRONG” bracelets) will be available at the service for a small donation. If you can’t make the service and would like one please email: michellejshah@yahoo.com.

3. If you would like to help with the food for the reception please contact Karen Darby at Redeemer Lutheran Church (970) 229-9292 by Thursday evening (02/04/10).

4. We also have a donation page with COTA (Children’s Organ Transplant Association) www.cota.org. We are raising money to help pay for medical expenses not covered by insurance. COTA is a nonprofit 501C3 organization. All money that we collect for COTA in honor of Owen will go directly towards paying for any medical expenses or funeral expenses.
