We Did It!

Nov 7, 10:20 PM

Dear ObamArts Supporters,

With your help he did it! Or rather they did it – President-Elect Obama, Vice President Elect Biden, Governor Ritter, Senator-Elect Udall and a host of dedicated Americans from both sides of the aisle and unaffiliated. The Arts Advocates of Colorado contributed: thank you all for your participation, for your volunteer hours, for your financial contributions.

We can treasure our rallying to the cause of change in the name of the arts, arts education and Colorado’s vast army of practicing artists. So, thank you and congratulations. And a particular thank you to committee volunteer Jennifer Hampton who kept us on task and led the charge!

Now the work begins: it’s not clear where we go from here, there’s so much to do! However, our leaders in the Colorado Council on the Arts, Arts For Colorado, Think 360 Arts and all across the state are tirelessly pushing forward Colorado’s Creative Agenda. We shall be hearing from them in the next few months – the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts’ biennial Economic Activity Study of the SCFD Report comes out this month, the Colorado Council on the Arts will publish their report on Colorado’s Creative Industries in December, the Denver Office of Cultural Affairs will publish its Creative Vitality Index in a few months. On March 6, we will gather at the Denver Art Museum for the annual Arts Advocacy Day.
We sincerely hope that you’ll stay involved, perhaps by joining Arts for Colorado at artsforcolorado.org or by joining the Think 360 Arts information network at think360arts.ning.com. We hope to bring you occasional updates on federal and state developments in the arts and arts education. Let’s work together to ensure that the Obama Administration is remembered for its cultural and artistic leadership!

Be sure to visit artsobamacolorado.com for updates from the Obama National Arts Policy Committee. Right now, you can view photos of Obama, artists, and arts supporters who have worked on his behalf during this amazing election process.

Thank you, always,
Colorado Chapter of Obama National Arts Policy Committee
