Summer Jazz Institute Classes

If you have experience playing jazz, no matter what your age, the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts has opportunities for you to spice up your summer, and take your musicianship to a new level. CCJA’s Summer Institute offers classes in Jazz Composition with award-winning writer Wil Swindler, Arranging with master Tony Klatka, Studio Recording with pro Scott Griess, and Guitar comping with pro Mike Abbott. You can also play in a summer big band under the direction of Paul Romaine and Greg Gisbert, or a Latin Ensemble with Eric Trujillo. CCJA Summer Boot Camp for Teens
Jazz Boot Camp: Improvisation and Technique Intensive
for all levels of teenaged jazz players

June 17- 19, 2008
9:30 – 4:30 each day
held at the Newman Center, University of Denver Campus
This camp features: – Leveled theory classes that focus on learning and playing – Multi-topic master classes featuring some of the region’s most outstanding clinicians – Small group playing focusing on improvisation, led by incredible professional musicians – Faculty performances
This year we will also have a special component for string players! Internationally acclaimed jazz violinist/educator Randy Sabien will be the feautured clinician for strings.
