Wes Blomster Music Mentoring Fund
Jan 5, 02:25 PM12.15.11 – The Youth Orchestras of the Rockies (YOR) are delighted to announce that we have been selected to participate in the Colorado Chamber Orchestra’s Wes Blomster Music Mentoring Fund Artist in Residence program!
The Wes Blomster Music Mentoring Fund has just been established by the Colorado Chamber Orchestra (CCO) in memory of Wesley Verne Blomster, long-time national and local music critic and music advocate. The CCO is proud to announce that the Wes Blomster Music Mentoring Fund is sponsoring an Artist in Residence program with the Youth Orchestras of the Rockies starting on January 8, 2012. Professional musicians from the Colorado Symphony, the Colorado Chamber Orchestra, regional orchestras, and faculty from regional colleges will be sitting in on rehearsals with the YOR and leading coaching sessions every week.
This program establishes the Youth Orchestras of the Rockies as the only youth orchestra of it’s kind in Colorado/Wyoming. We are honored to host these fine artists and to provide this exceptional experience to our talented young musicians.
Musicians interested in joining the YOR are invited to audition anytime or to attend one of the first two rehearsals of the Spring season (1/8/2012 or 1/15/2012 at Ridgeview Classical Schools, 1800 South Lemay Avenue Fort Collins, Colorado 80525). Please arrive by 2:45 with your instrument(s). Rehearsal ends at 5:30. Parents are welcome to attend but are not required to stay.
