The Mountain Chamber Music Society is a nonprofit 501c3 organization whose mission is to use the power of music to achieve durable learning and cultural awareness. Our goals are to raise awareness and appreciation of chamber music as an art form, and to enhance musical education opportunities for K-12 students and the community.

In order to achieve our goals, we have formed a collaborative partnership with Jefferson County Public Schools and are one of fourteen new partnerships with the Kennedy Center Partners in Education program in the nation. This represents the first time a Kennedy program has been implemented in the Denver Metropolitan area.

Concert Series:
Our Core Ensemble presents three concerts per year. We combine the musicians into varied ensembles, and present interesting and culturally balanced programs that represent historically significant and new, vital music that will energize the field of Chamber Music for years to come.

Kennedy Center Partner
As Kennedy Center Partners in Education, the MCMS program brings unique possibilities to the education and art communities in the Denver metropolitan area. In collaborating with the Kennedy Center, educators and artists, and ultimately the future citizens of Colorado, our participates will grow in their knowledge of how the arts integrate with all curriculum subjects, how to teach and learn in and about the arts, and finally, to learn to become critical and appreciative audiences for this rich aspect of the human experience.

Jefferson County Schools
The Mountain Chamber Music Society, in collaboration with the Jefferson County Public Schools, has developed and is implementing a series of workshops that support the Kennedy Center goals to present “professional development programs that enhance teachers’ knowledge and abilities to teach in, through and about the arts, and to develop teachers’ appreciation of the role of the arts in student learning.”
