In 1996, Vladimir Petrov and Lydia Svyatlovskaya were sitting comfortably in the first violin section of one of the world's greatest orchestras, the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra, when it was decided that their future lay in the United States of America.
Both had earned their way to the top of the musical world, he through his studies at the prestigious Gnessin Institute where he had been their orchestra's concertmaster and she as a select student in the world's most competitive violin program at the Moscow Conservatory.
It was as members of the Moscow Orchestra of Chamber Music that Vladimir and Lydia met and decided to spend their lives together as husband and wife. From their home in Colorado, these great musicians perform extensively in regional orchestras and chamber ensembles and tour the nation as the Moscow Violin Duo.
