1. Placement inside the main tuning slide (on either side) will achieve improved response... with the least amount of resistance created at the side farthest from the mouthpiece, and vice-versa.

2. Placement inside one of the "branch" slides can achieve improved response on only selected notes playedwith that fingering; to improve one or two "problem" pitches. However, more than one AcoustiCoil affecting the same pitch is not recommended due to increased resistance which results... DO NOT combine numbers 1 and 2.

Since all instruments respond in varying degrees according to their inherent design, the AcoustiCoil can provide a measure of response adjustment by using the indicated placements for your euphonium or tuba to determine your preference.

In any case, be careful to closely follow the installation instructions on the AcoustiCoil container's label card... matching the coil side with the retriever/guage so that is is positioned atthe presecribed distance in from the tubing edge (at the mark), coiled within itself and straight (with the overlapping edges matching).

Since it is necessary to see inside the instrument for the reecommended placements and critical adjustments with the retriever/guage/adjustment tool provided, it is also desirable to hold that portion of the tuba or euphonium under a bright light during the installation process.
